Alamo Toolworks is proud to present it's line of folded metal backs for handsaw makers.  Here we have our ATW Heavy Brass Back.  This back is made from 1/8" 260 cartridge brass folded 180 degrees to form the ultimate in heavy weight saw backs. An 11" long back  weighs an incredible 13.86 oz. / 392.7 grams.  If you want to build a heavy duty backsaw with mass and stability this is the back for you.  This back is suitable for all backsaw plates from 0.015" up to 0.032".  Full installation instructions included with purchase.  You will need a heavy soft-faced hammer (48 oz. or so), a good vise and a heavy or stoutly mounted work bench.  We stand behind our products 100% - if you are not satisfied with the back when you receive it, we'll refund your purchase price within 14 days.
